This Notice explains, under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK), how Yeldan Legal processes the personal data of the lawyers and legal professionals who use its service, the purposes of processing, who the data may be transferred to, how it is collected, and your rights under Article 11 of the KVKK. Yeldan Legal is an AI workspace grounded in Turkish law and processes your personal data only within the scope described here.
1. Data Controller
Your personal data is processed by Yeldan Legal in its capacity as data controller. Yeldan Legal provides an AI workspace grounded in Turkish law for lawyers and legal professionals. This Notice applies to all services offered by Yeldan Legal, and we undertake that your personal data is processed in compliance with Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and related legislation.
2. How We Collect Your Data and the Legal Basis
Your personal data is collected electronically, both directly from you and through automated means, when you register for and use the service. It is processed on the legal bases set out in Article 5 of the KVKK, including the establishment and performance of a contract, compliance with our legal obligations, and our legitimate interests that do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms. Where the law requires explicit consent, your data is processed solely on the basis of your explicit consent.
3. Categories of Personal Data We Process
The following categories of personal data are processed to provide the service:
Identity and contact data: your name, surname, email address and, where applicable, your title
Account and usage data: account settings, session records and your platform usage history
Content data: documents you create and the files and text you upload to your cases
Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, and security logs
4. Purposes of Processing
Your personal data is processed for the following purposes:
Providing the service and creating and managing your account
Delivering legislation and case-law research, document management and AI-assisted features
User authentication, account security and prevention of misuse
Improving the service and resolving technical issues
Responding to support requests and communicating with you
Meeting our legal obligations under applicable legislation
5. Confidentiality of Your Content and Use of AI
The documents, files and content you upload to or create in Yeldan Legal belong to you and are processed solely to provide the service to you. Your uploaded data is not used to train the models of AI providers without your explicit request, and this is secured in our agreements with those providers. Your client information is treated as subject to professional secrecy.
6. Transfer of Personal Data
To the extent necessary to provide the service, and with the safeguards under Articles 8 and 9 of the KVKK, your personal data may be transferred to the following groups of recipients:
Infrastructure and hosting service providers
AI model providers, on condition that the data is not used for model training
Servers and cloud service providers located abroad, subject to appropriate security measures
Authorized public authorities and judicial bodies, upon a lawful request
7. Data Retention and Applications
Your personal data is retained for as long as your account is active and for the retention periods required by law. At the end of these periods your data is deleted, destroyed or anonymized. You can submit your requests under Article 11 of the KVKK and requests for the deletion of your data at info@yeldanlegal.com.
8. Your Rights Under Article 11 of the KVKK
Under Article 11 of the KVKK you have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed, to request information where it has been processed, to learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in line with that purpose, to know the third parties to whom the data is transferred at home or abroad, to request the correction of incomplete or incorrectly processed data, to request the deletion or destruction of the data, to request that such correction and deletion be notified to the third parties to whom the data was transferred, to object to any adverse result arising from the automated analysis of the processed data, and to claim compensation for damage arising from the unlawful processing of your data.
9. Data Security
Yeldan Legal takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted transmission, access controls and secure authentication. These measures aim to prevent the unlawful processing of and unauthorized access to your data. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
10. Governing Law
This Notice and the processing of your personal data are governed by Turkish law and the provisions of Law No. 6698 (KVKK). The courts and enforcement offices of the Republic of Turkiye have jurisdiction over any disputes.
11. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Notice from time to time. We announce material changes by publishing the updated text on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the service after such changes means you have reviewed the updated text.
